Should I travel to south america in june and juy - their winter time?
im 22 and I recently lost my job and now im thinking of travelling to south america brazil, argentina and chile during their winter of july and august. Does anyone have any experience of traveliing to SA during the winter as im worried that the cold weather may spoil the trip. I dont however want to travel during their summer as it'll be too hot but was thinking of going in september when its spring over there. The only problem about this is that september is far away and i dont know if i can last that long without a job as im currently finding it impossible to get any job.Should i just leave in july or wait until september?
Good companies to travel to south america with?
Im planning my gap year at the moment and i'm really interested in the idea of travelling round South America. I went to Peru last year for 5 weeks and now i'm looking to go to places such as Ecuador, Venezuela, Brazil and some others. The only problem is, none of my friends want to go travel there. So i've decided to go on my own and was wondering if anyone had done a similar thing before on there own and could make suggestions of good companies to go with? It would be good if I was able to meet fellow travellers and sort of stick with a group as I know its very dangerous travelling solely on your own in these areas. Thanks

What kind of adapter/converter is the best and most reliable when traveling to South America, Peru?
I am traveling to Peru from the US in April. We plan on visiting a few cities throughout the country. I am a little confused on the type of adapter converter I need. I would like to be able to use up to 2000 watts. I am bringing a hair dryer, straightener, camera and phone charger. Some websites say a converter is not needed, others say I need fuses and surge protectors. There seem to be many universal travel kits but they all have terrible reviews Any recommendations?? Help Thanks so much
