Traveling to Australia alone?
I'm leaving in a week. I'm with the US Navy, and I have friends who TALKED about going for the longest time. But unfortunately, they never followed through with ANYTHING they said... So I figured, instead of just standing around wishing I had somebody to go with, I decided I'll go at it alone.I have a package set up so I will be occupied almost everyday with some adventure, whether it's scuba diving in the great barrier reef, skydiving, etc. It's for 10 days, and I'm 20 years old.I'm figuring I'll meet lots of people during my adventure, so it may not be as lonely as people think...What would your opinion be on somebody who travels alone like this?

My son was offered the opportunity to travel to Australia in the summer of 2012. We have started to gently raise money for him by doing car washes, bake sales, etc...I was just wondering if there were ways a company might help sponsor him so he can go on this trip next year? my son is 9 years old , in the 4th grade, he is an honor student, always gets straight A's, top of his class since kindergarten and performs at the 6th grade level. If anyone can point me in the right direction as to what I can do, I would greatly appreciate it. If anyone can suggest companies in the Arizona Tucson area that we can go to, please do let me know. I have everything paid for. The thing is im only left over with about $1000 cash in hand.I will obviously be attempting to get a job ASAP upon arrival. Are there a lot of jobs in Sydney? I am a strong tall guy, competitive hockey player. Anyways do you think I will be able to get a job, save up and then go to the next town up the east coast?I know you are supposed to have 5k but I heard they don't check.
